Reeling in Success: East Galveston Bay Update
Galveston Bay - Chambers, TX
Inshore & Marsh (Redfish & Trout) Action: High. Redfish and trout are active in shallow back lakes, marsh drains, and windward shorelines. Lures/Baits: Salt and pepper or chartreuse paddle tails, flukes, and imitation shrimp under popping corks with 12-18 inch leaders. Hotspots: East Galveston Bay, shallow marsh lakes, and drains
For the week of March 25, 2026, Galveston fishing is "on fire" inshore, with excellent catches of redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and sheepshead, especially in East Bay and near the jetties. Water temperatures are in the upper 60s to low 70s, making for active fishing with soft plastics or shrimp under popping corks in 6-18 inches of water.
